OBORAH: HE'S out for the money

We have seen for ourselves how the DALC sales ( conned students) have drastically gone down. In my view, it must be causing the naughty professor some trouble. But worry not, for Oborah is a schemer through and through. He is now tricking people into buying computers through DALC. We are now reliably informed that Oborah has a shipment of ex Uk laptops that are waiting to be dished out to DALC students like "njugu" and then the students have to pay for the computers over a period of 6 months.

We take great exception to Oborah's new scheme. Surely he is manipulating students into getting laptops on top of paying his inflated fees and dubious UK examination and graduation fees. Parents will now have to buy laptops through Oborah's new scheme. Sadly, he keeps things sketchy like he always does with everything. Take note that he has not talked of processor speeds, hardisk space or brands of the computers. He does not want you to start making comparisons with the current market rates.

In the online portal, the students get an option to choose the specification of their computer. The students can choose a laptop with or without a webcam. That is the most useless option an academic of Oborah's standing could offer. That has nothing to do with academics, nada. Infact, webcams are use for video chats. So DALC students will be paying for webcam enabled laptops!!!

I am sure that he has failed to fully disclose the other information regarding the laptops because it is yet another way for him to scam money off innocent Kenyans.

He ruthlessly manipulates DALC students by flaunting the laptops as tools of the next century education alleging that DALC is forward looking. So ditching desktops for laptops will improve the quality of education at DALC?? What hogwash. He is simply manipulating students. After all, wouldn't any college student give an arm to get a laptop that has a webcam.

Oborah is simply diverting attention from issues by throwing laptops and wireless internet to students so they can browse all day and chat on their webcam enabled notebooks. DALC Education in effect will not spend any money on equipment (DESKTOPS) whilst making a tidy profit by supplying its students with laptops. HOW CLEVER. Why don't you throw in external TV cards and 2.1 speakers into the mix. I am sure the students would find those useful too. Humphrey, how long are you going to use technology to cheat Kenyans?

Only fools would think that giving students webcam enabled laptops means quality education.

Kenyans are yet again parted from their money.

THE TIPSY DALC PROFESSOR

The years of lying seem to have caught up with our adored professor who seems beleaguered by the wave of departures hitting his camp and the drying up of the cash cow. This was instantly recognizable when he came for the meeting at Nakuru. He was already tipsy when he parked his car outside MERICA HOTEL on Friday. He looked haggard too. My presumption is that he has a canteen of vodka he carries around everywhere he goes to steady his nerves.

As surveys point out, the DALC fraud factory has been hard hit by the eye-openers made by bloggers and the lack of a concrete response by the Professor has further dented the confidence of the students. The outcome has been substantial departures by students, low enrollment rates and a cash flow crunch all over the campuses. His trip down to the rift valley was to stem this tide and to pacify the nerves of students who do not know what the future holds for them.

Well, it seems that the professor needed to calm down before the he calmed you down. After arriving tipsy for the meeting, he went straight to the bar at Merica and downed a few more cold beers. The DALC student who spotted him says, “I was deeply troubled when I saw the Head of Missions drinking just before our meeting. I just did not know what to think anymore”.

Perhaps the counterfeit professor probably needed to haze his vision before he lied and stoning himself on a few frothy ones seemed to be a quick way of doing that. This coming from a man who once blamed the moral decay in our society to lack of proper career testing is enormously ironic. In one of the THE CLASS episodes, Oborah argues that all of Africa problems including immorality could be solved Gift and Talent testing, which of course would be performed by him at DALC.

Ladies and Gentlemen, this man can tell your child’s career from as early as 5 years. He can tell that by examining at the electrochemical balance in the brain’s four quadrants of thinking. (Oborah’s words)

So, why does he need to come to students and parents meeting drunk?

CERTIFICATE CIRCUS: THE EUROPEAN BUSINESS SCHOOL

We look at the other bogus upgrade option that DALC offers its students and its questionable documents. The European Business School Cambridge.

Application Letter/Transcript/Credit Transfers (click on the image for a clear view)

1. European Business School Letterhead simply lists the website url . No physical address is given, no number, and not a telephone/fax no in sight.

2. The Simple numbering system i.e STUDENT/MBA/YEAR is the kind of code a class 8 prefect would come up with to label the class storybooks in the cupboard at the corner. Not a European Business School!! As of 20th July, this was the 20th Student of the year just incase you didn't notice.

3. Application to credit transfers that is devoid of the details of the credits. Find out from a genuine university and see that credit transfers are not so casually awarded. Where are the subjects, credit points, etc

4. This is a masters degree programme that awards Credit points for 1st,2nd, and 3rd year's coursework. That is definitely a diploma mill right there. Look how they put experience in there as one of the qualification for credit points.

5. Another Signature and no name!! Its always the Academic Secretary, the Chancellor , Examiner, Mickey Mouse Fan, Wannabe musician but no names. They do not want to incriminate themselves.

6. EUROPEAN BUSINESS SCHOOL LIMITED. Anybody who needs an explanation on why that is fishy must be a DALC student who started a course at the 2nd year level and is now fast tracking to an MBA a years later. What is a limited CO. doing signing diplomas and awarding credit points?

This is a document (thanks to a former DALC student) with so much info in it that it is simply ridiculous. The shallowness the Diploma Mills operators exhibit is baffling.

This document does contains the following information:

● Confirms the admission of the student into the MBA programme,

● Gives an admission no,

● Informs of the credit transfers

● Gives results for the assessed thesis

It is an admission letter, credit transfer confirmation and results slip. How bizzare!.

For those who do not know, an application to a school has only one result- an admission /rejection letter. You cannot apply, request for exemptions and submit a thesis for assessment all at once. THAT IS IMPOSSIBLE IN THE REAL ACADEMIC WORLD. I dare say it is like conceiving and giving birth at the same time.

The DEAD giveaway that this is DALC's handiwork is the phrase THESIS(PROJECT). Anybody who has been in there long enough knows that the Head of Missions uses both words interchangeably. He says projects/thesis or thesis/project. It is everywhere in the prospectus and on DALC's website.

What gives them away is the use of PROJECT and THESIS on a transcript. Academics don't do that, they simply have a thesis and you can go figure what a thesis is if you don't know. This one has PROJECT in brackets just in case the person who got the degree or other people who read might not know what a thesis is. (PROJECT). Tell me how many you have read or heard DALC use Thesis/Project. How about the TITLE of the THESIS? Did they forget to mention that?

Perhaps I'll find the word “Certificate” on a particular transcript will also have (award)(accolade) next to it .

7.The letterhead changes and is different from the transcript above. It says Cambridge, England and still no physical address given. Absolutely no way you could know where the European Business School is situated. All you need to know is that it was at Cambridge.

8.Cambridge again. Least you miss the letterhead.

9.Who is signing these documents. Why are there no names in any of them, and that signature, it is fishy. Who is Collins Thompson??
