HOW THE SCAMMERS GRADUATE YOU INTO NOTHINGNESS
The people behind the graduation ceremonies must look at the merry making graduates and smile in satisfaction at a con well executed. See, the graduation ceremony at Safari Park is the icing on the cake of this long con. A long con indeed considering that some people spend over 3 years at DALC and leave with a degree from a University that has no facilities, no faculty, has been uncovered by the BBC as being bogus and whose chancellor admitted to being dodgy.
Interestingly, the scammers have fashioned a fellowship akin to a society of thieves. They are the same people who attend these graduations in the hired halls of Cambridge and Oxford University and then attend graduations in Kenya where they shake your hand as they give you a useless Diploma or Degree with a glimmer in their eyes. You see the same faces over and over when you look at the graduation ceremonies by three different bogus institutions namely, Oxford Association of Management, Cambridge Association of Managers and Irish International University. Do not forget that the 3 institution are accredited by the Quality Assurance Commission, a spurious accreditation agency that is owned by the kingpin, Hardeep Sandhu.
Looking at the graduation ceremonies held by the IIU, you can easily draw the parallel with the local graduation that Oborah and Company are going to holding this month. The photos tell the whole story and without further ado, let the pictures do the talking.
THE IIU GRADUATION IN MALAYSIA
Have you ever wondered why these scammers do not have students from the countries in which they are named after? Cambridge Association and Oxford Association of Managers do not have UK students. The Irish University is not even located in Ireland! Why do these institutions love Africans and Asians so much? That's a simple because Africans and Asians have an unquestioning trust for all things foreign especially if it involves Europe and North America.
Have a look at the Irish International University and draw the parallel to the graduation you expect at Safari Park this May.
Outside the hired Graduation Hall students chat and take pictures
As the Intercontinental scammers arrive. Can you see Kempe and Sandhu in the background?
And they introduce the local Dignitary. He probably is a politician and does not know exactly who he is dealing with. There's Sandhu again!
The happy parents, relatives and friends sit expectantly. They are so glad that their kin are about to graduate.
The Irish University paraphernalia is laid out on a table near the entrance for this auspicious occasion.
The scammers get spruced up to play the role for this day. Oborah must be the first Kenyan to attend this dubious graduation.
Last minute review of the plan. They are discussing the stage layout according to the chat. Looking nice in their gowns don't you think?
The happy graduates get ready to rumble.
The scammers are ready to please with degrees that are not worth the ink that's printed on them. Say hi to Oborah, all the way in Malaysia.
All are seated inside. Patiently waiting.
This guy marches in with the IIU mace. That's supposed to show you how serious the university is.
And the fraud masters go marching in…into a hired hall in Malaysia
The speeches. Take note of the slideshow in the background showing the UK, Ireland and European Union flags. See the slide that says Accredited Transnational University. Whatever that means!
Aha, see Hans Kempe (Left), Hardeep Sandhu (centre) in Malaysia together just like at the DALC graduation in 2008.
The power to read with a worthless Irish International University Degree. Smile, Shake Hands and go.
The Happy Irish International University Graduates make merry and capture this special moment. Fast forward to the BBC expose and this is a sour reminder of money and time lost.
The DALC Graduation to be held by DALC on the 30th of May will be a lot like the Malaysia.
Irish International University graduation above and some of the International scammers may be present. The important thing is to understand that a graduation ceremony is of no value if the certificates presented are not of any worth.
As you walk to the stage to shake the fraudsters hands upon receiving your degree or diploma and pose for photos with relatives. Ask yourself, is this a hollow ceremony meant to hoodwink you? Are just like the Malaysians above, the victim of a cartel that has specialized in a awarding dubious qualifications? Think about it!
FAITH KINYAE'S IRISH INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY PHD
Faith Kinyae is Oborah's wife and partner in crime. In fact, she is in charge of finances at DALC, perhaps in acknowledging that she is one mean woman. Usually, she spends most of her time trying to find a way of not paying the staff and suppliers for services rendered. That is why at the end of every month, she goes through the payroll and makes impromptu deductions and sometimes fails to send some salaries to the bank.
She also the one who masterminds the fraudulent tax returns that DALC makes year in year out. Strangely, Kenya Revenue Authority has never acted on tip-offs that DALC does not submit PAYE to date. This fraudster has claims that she holds a doctorate and guess what, she does have a doctorate from the Irish International University.
Oborah's wife is a DR. of the Irish International University and we are curious on how she managed to do it in between chopping employees' salaries, playing games with suppliers and hiring every month. She got her degree during an IIU graduation in Malaysia and we have a photo of her in a graduation gown. Does anybody know when she did her research?
There you have it ladies and gentlemen. The institution that claims to offer Kenya's most innovative education is headed by people with dubious degrees. The Head of Missions is a professor of the WIDU and his wife holds a doctorate from the Irish International University which does not even exist.
These are the two people who have been entrusted with the task of molding our youth. What a shame!
DIVERSION AHEAD: OBORAH’S WAY
One of the ways that Oborah has survived the questioning through the years is by use of diversionary tactics. Oborah downplays issues by distracting focus or diverting attention away from key matters or important things; usually by intensifying the side-issues, the unrelated, and the trivial.
The common variations of diversionary tactics employed by Humphrey Peter Ouko Oborah include: "hairsplitting," "attacking a straw man," "red herring"; and emotional attacks (ad hominem, ad populum). Humor and entertainment ("bread and circuses") have also been used as pleasant ways to divert attention from major issues.
Oborah's arguments are almost always flawed as they are based on a falsehood. A little education may help lots of people recognize the common diversionary tactics. This is necessary to ensure that you get the answers you are looking for and not fall for his useless tricks. We will look at examples of Oborah's diversionary techniques that have been used to keep this DALC monkey business going.
1. EMOTIONAL ATTACKS (Ad hominem, Ad populum)
This is Oborah's favorite technique and has been adopted by the DALC students who cannot argue against issues presented against DALC. For example, it is a fact CAM/OXIM courses are not accredited by the government in the UK. When you confront Oborah with these facts, he knows he cannot prove the facts wrong. So he attacks the man. This means that Oborah will discredit the person who presents the facts and the popular attacks are fashioned along the lines of.
"Who sent you to say that? Do competitors pay you?" these diversions are aimed at diverting the argument onto the credibility of the person who raises the query. Other diversionary attacks include "You are jealous of our Success so you want to tarnish our name", "These are the former staffs that are angry that I fired them for stealing from me" and "These are rumours spread by students that I discontinued".
These kinds of arguments make the shallow thinker go with the new diversion even though that is not the issue at hand.
For example, the actuarial science prospectus that DALC presents is copied from the Kent University. Confronting Oborah with that information will result in an answer that goes on and on about jealous competitors, angry staff and lazy students. Keep your eye on the ball and you will realize that Oborah has no answers to any of the issues raised. He simply diverts the arguments.
2. HAIR SPLITTING
Isn't Humphrey Oborah famous for breaking a simple argument to a downright ridiculous level the way a child does. He does this by finding meaningless issues and making them the main aspect of the argument. For example, if you strongly confronted him on an issue as a student. He picks on a trivial issue and make it the focus of the argument. For example, when confronted with the issue of accreditation, he chooses to focus on the students' lateness in submission of assignments, manner of dressing, hairstyle etc to dismiss the matter raised. This is one of the most common ways Oborah deals with queries raised by students. He simply raises a random trivial issue with the student and works the molehill into a mountain. As a result, the main question goes unanswered.
Sometimes when H is faced with questions, he chooses to create a circus out of the whole issue. This diversionary technique arose from ancient Rome where politicians gave the people handouts and petty amusements when they did not perform their duties. Oborah has employed this technique to a good effect especially when dealing with the young students.
Humour: - When questioned about the suspiciously short time that DALC students take to complete a "Masters" course. He may respond in humour and make a big joke out of the whole thing. Oborah's typical response would be, "You are still in the 80s where getting a masters means you have to be 45 years and have streaks of grey in your beards. Do you think we care about the grey beards? I don't even have grey hair myself. Heheheheh!!" The issue in this case was the extremely short period that it takes for one to get a degree through DALC's system.
Humphrey Oborah is also a master of the circus aka entertainment. If you look at the DALC calendar, the most important even is the DALC weekend where Oborah entertains students for four days nonstop. The inner circle students can drink as much as they want on Oborah's account at K1 and when the students assemble at the fisherman's camp. It's a sex and beerfest that Oborah gleefully bankrolls with uncontrolled abandon.
Ironically, students who wallow in Oborah's circus are actually drinking from their parents pockets and they worship Oborah for it. I bet a big number of them are too dim to even consider this a possibility. Check this out, I steal from your parents and then take you out and give you a heavy treat. What Do you say to that?
This is a method in which author will claim their opponents hold a position they do not in fact hold, and then attack that position. Humphrey Ouko Oborah is a skilled user of the strawman. If you asked him Oborah about:
- The past collaboration with the Irish International University
- The photographs where he poses as a councilor in the Irish University gallery
- His 21 research papers
He will quickly claim that you have an agenda which could be anything he chooses from jealousy, business rivalry, revenge, village disagreement and then go ahead to attack that agenda. The imagined agenda is the strawman. In sum, when Oborah responds to all queries with claims that these are driven by jealousy, he is creating a straw man. He then attacks the straw man with a vengeance saying he is not cowed, he is stronger than you think; he is going to sue the jealous people etc. Still, he will not have answered the question as he will be busy destroying the straw man.
This technique is also known as Digression, Misdirection, and False Emphasis. When faced with a particularly tough question, Oborah loves to digress mostly through the use of strange analogies and stories. For example he likes the "Malaysia and Kenya were at par 30 years ago story" to answer tough questions. He will simply tell you that Malaysia is ahead because they were innovative.
This could be in response to a query on the recognisability of CAM/OXIM are really good. Recently when asked by a student if CAM/OXIM qualifications were legitimate, he went into a long story about how the engineering department at the University of Nairobi has lifts that do not work. He then started telling the student that she had been a very good girl and a model student who should be emulated by others.
That is total digression, stick to your question and you will find out (if you haven't) that Oborah is nothing but a trickster.
In closing, be watchful of Oborah's words. Whenever he answers a question, is he diverting attention from your point: to focus on competitors, seek sympathy, to laugh etc? Get the answers you need and do not be fooled by Oborah many diversionary gimmicks.

DALC STAFF AWAIT THEIR APRIL SALARIES
midmonth and the fraudster is yet to pay the staff who work 12 hours a
day 6 days a week. Students who pay late are promptly kicked out of
class on the 5th without fail yet the staff are made to wait until mid
month to get paid. HUMPHREY OBORAH, when do you think your staff pay
their rent? When are they supposed to pay their bills? They too afraid
to demand for their money, so on their behalf. WHERE ARE APRIL
SALARIES?

AS THE GRADUATION LOOMS
It is the graduation season once again and hundreds will be graduating from DALC with various diplomas most of which are not accredited. The real purpose of this graduation is to put a mental seal and complete the contract with students who will walk home whistling tunes and singing DALC praises. Why not, after all they have a UK diploma from Cambridge Association of Managers (they think it exists somewhere in the UK) or from Oxford Association of Managers (which does not exist in the UK) and they will plunge into the job market with improved vigour.
What they do not know is that they are victims of a cartel. This cartel targets people in third world countries who consider Education to be their only ticket to success. The more foreign sounding the institution the better. These tricksters rely on the allure of English sounding names that have come to be associated with academic excellence e.g. Cambridge and Oxford. The students will get worthless papers that really have no recognition anywhere and that cannot be recognized in genuine education institution.
The cartel owners are aware of this slight hitch so they have their own universities where student who hold their worthless diplomas can get a degree of equal worth but a degree anyway. So if you have the persistent desire to be a degree holder, worry no more. There is time and universities that will take you, give you any degree you want as long as you do not insist too much on accreditation. To these scammers, accreditation as they say is not obligatory. Therefore, they do not appreciate the need to be accredited.
For example look at DALC's accreditation issues. There was a problem with its accreditation status but then this is Kenya and we suspect that the commission for higher education was compromised to accredit DALC. As a result DALC was endorsed to offer two courses, Diploma in Computing and Diploma in Business Management. This accreditation assumes that these courses are taught and examined by DALC education and Diplomas offered by DALC.
DALC Education on the other hand, recognizes that their brand has little appeal and has therefore continued to market Cambridge and Oxford course through Association that are nothing but fronts to trick unknowing people. They keep it ambiguous so that you think it's the famous CAMBRIDGE that even our grandfathers respected. If you look at a DALC sign outside the college, it says CAMBRIDGE & OXFORD without further information on what these two institutions they represent are.
DALC does not disclose details of the CAMBRIDGE or OXFORD ASSOCIATIONS that the grandaunts will be receiving diplomas from. In fact, these associations do not have faculty, departments or an examination board yet it offers Diplomas all the way Postgraduate level in courses such as Actuarial Science.
Our investigation at the UK registrar of companies prove that CAMBRIDGE ASSOCIATION OF MANAGERS and OXFORD ASSOCIATION OF MANAGEMENT do not currently exist and were initially registered as limited companies. Not as examination bodies as DALC head of Missions Humphrey Oborah would have you believe. These two have also never been accredited and have no UK students to show for all their English flair. Even when they existed, they operated as dormant companies meaning that they were not trading. This is sardonic considering the thousands of people who paid close to 1000 pounds for a diploma in Kenya, Cambodia and Malaysia.
What does this hold for DALC students who will be graduating? Well, the future can only get worse as the truth about DALCs dubious deals will come to light and their Diplomas will not be worth the paper they are printed on. Former students will not be able to secure jobs with the credentials and the graduation day pictures will be a bitter reminder of how they got conned.
This will not be a Happy Graduation for those victims of fraud. It will be a bitter souvenir on the government's ineptitude, Humphrey Oborah's gluttony and Standard Groups unashamed promotion of a questionable organization.
Have a guarded graduation.

'Plagiarised' MBA application raises bogus degree concerns
More concerns have emerged about the rise of private businesses selling worthless degrees after a graduate from one of many unrecognised "universities" was caught applying for a PhD programme with a plagiarised masters dissertation.
John Arnold, a professor at Loughborough University's Business School, told The Times Higher this week that he had rejected an application from a masters graduate of the private Irish International University (IIU), after noticing that more than a third of his thesis was quite obviously plagiarised from an academic paper freely available on the internet.
Professor Arnold said that he was concerned that three months after he raised the plagiarism with the IIU, it had failed to act, and he warned that the student had indicated he would seek a place elsewhere.
Investigations by The Times Higher have uncovered serious questions about the academic credentials of the IIU.
British accountant Jeff Wooller, who was fined by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in 1995 for advertising unaccredited MBA courses, is described as vice-chancellor of the IIU.
Dr Wooller's institutions include "St Clements University", a private institution registered in the West Indies, and the Irish Business School, which The Times Higher exposed in 2002 for making false claims to accreditation.
Registered as a company in Ireland, the IIU has an "international campus" in London's Westminster Bridge Road, under the umbrella of London Executive Schools. The IIU says it is accredited by an organisation called the Commission for Continuous Learning UK - which has the same Westminster Bridge Road address as the IIU's London Executive Schools.

IN his OWN WORDS: OBORAH's Achievements
This should only serve to illustrate that Oborah and DALC are liars who are out to get your money.
Prof. Dr. Humphrey Oborah Profile > Achievements
Achievements |
He thrives in vision and foresight. He acts by design and seldom by default. He believes in originality, creativity and innovation of ideas. To him, the world can only be a better place if and only when the society allows creative minds a chance to exploit their special gifts. When he set up DALC Education in January 2003, many took him for granted. About DALC, they said 'yet another downtown college' and they watched to see the institution shut down due to low or lack of admissions, stiff competition, finances, and a myriad of similar problems associated with setting up an education institution in the third world. But all in vain. The Head of Missions of DALC Education still holds on to the memories of the humble beginnings …"so we had only three students during the first year for whom I had to pay examination fees to prove that I meant seriousness." But success has a way of following winners to the beautiful gates of heaven. Once you set your goals right and focus on achieving them, you always get rewarded for your hard work and determination. "Once the pioneers did the examinations and certificates came on Cambridge letterhead, we had long queues of people wanting to register for the Cambridge programs," Prof. Dr. Oborah recollects with a tinge of contentment in his tone. This success must have been the best news to the residents of East and Central Africa since DALC Education had earlier in July 2002 had been licenced to offer the high impact programs of University of Cambridge International Examinations. Growing up in the curtain years of the last millennium, and even more so in the African continent, the reality of education, particularly the lack of it is a hardship one has to grapple with. As they say in the business world, nothing but death and taxes is certain these days. And with the cosmopolitan society we were raised in, any kind of mobility - be it financial, social or even geographical movement proves to be a tall order. Right from the onset, parents identified and still look at quality education as the sure key and path to the very elusive happiness. Alas! Necessity they say gives birth to innovation. Wish and the creative mind will make it happen. Seek and innovation will bring it to your doorstop. Other than DALC education, Prof. Dr. Oborah recently launched the Centre for Academic Referrals, Testing and Management (CARETM). His idea here was to enable parents foretell their children's career early in life hence avoid making serious and costly career blunders later in life. One too many questions parents ask of their children, "so if my son/daughter is in lower primary or early secondary or already in an institution of higher learning, can't I be in a position to forecast his/her future career, with certainty so that I know where to put my money, time and effort?" "Like good doctors do a blood test before providing a prescription, good teachers should also test for gifts and talents before teaching", remarks Prof. Dr. Oborah. CARETM (www.caretm.com) also enables one determine their right career, so if you feel you need a career guide of change, this is the place for you. |
